Date of Assessment: 6 November to 25 November 2025. The service is a care home providing accommodation, personal and nursing care to a maximum of 56 people of all ages living with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and dementia. At the time of our visit, 54 people were using the service. The care home was set up over 3 floors, providing residential, nursing and dementia care A registered manager was in post. We rated this service as good overall.
Managers and staff ensured people were at the centre of their care. People’s care plans contained person specific details including information about their lives and histories. The service was observant in people’s changing health needs and escalated concerns promptly.
The manager had a strong focus on continuous improvement and promoting a good learning culture, and people and families could raise any concerns.
The service had a positive and open culture. The management team were visible, actively involved and approachable. They gathered feedback regularly through surveys and other channels, and the overall response was positive. The service had suitable quality assurance systems.
People were supported by enough staff who understood their roles and responsibilities and had the right skills and experience. Staff treated people with warmth and compassion and protected their privacy and dignity; they treated people as individuals and supported their independence and preferences. The activities team engaged with people and encouraged them to take part in a wide range of activities within the home and people had regular opportunities to access the local community.
