Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 3 December 2025

Date of Assessment: 5 December 2025 to 6 January 2026. This service is a domiciliary care service, registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. They provide support to people with a range of different needs including older people and children. At the time of the assessment 50 people were using the service, 32 of which were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who uses a domiciliary service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care.

The service is also registered as a supported living service but at the time of our assessment was not providing this type of support. We therefore did not assess this part of their registration.

At the time of our visit, we found that the service was inadvertently supporting 1 person with a learning disability/autism who fell under the regulated activity of personal care. The provider although not currently registered for this client group had applied to add this service user band to their registration. We therefore assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. This provider was able to demonstrate how they were meeting the underpinning principles of ‘Right support, right care, right culture.’

This is the first assessment for this provider under its new registration. At this assessment we reviewed all 5 key questions and rated the provider overall as good.

Additional detail was required in some sections of care plans and risk assessments. Whilst we found no harm to people, further information was needed to ensure risks were fully mitigated and to ensure staff had sufficient information to be able to provide care and support which was safe, consistent and effective. The registered manager agreed to review and update all care records.

There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Recruitment systems were in place, but these needed to be reviewed to include full employment history for staff. This was actioned immediately by the registered manager. Staff received appropriate training and supervision to promote good quality care.

The provider had processes to safeguard people from the risk of abuse. Staff were knowledgeable about safeguarding and knew how to act on concerns. Lessons were learnt from incidents and shared with staff.

Staff understood the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence and making choices about their care. Staff treated people with kindness and respect.

People and their relatives felt able to raise issues and were confident action would be taken if needed, and improvements made.

People were involved in assessments of their needs and care was based on the latest evidence and good practice. Staff worked with other agencies to support people to achieve good outcomes.

Governance systems were in place to monitor the standard of care people received.

People's experience of the service

Updated 3 December 2025

People and their families were positive about the quality of their care. One relative told us, “Staff treat not only [relative] with care and kindness but me too.” One person told us, “Care staff are very warm and friendly.”

People and their families were positive about support provided and raised no concerns about missed calls or timing of calls. One person told us, “Staffing levels are good, and I’ve never had a call missed and on occasion when carers have been late it is because they have been held up on another call but [the office] will ring to let me know.” Overall people and their families told us they were visited by regular staff. However, 1 relative commented staff who visited were warm and capable, however, it was difficult for their relative to build a rapport due to lack of consistency due to changes of staff.

People and their relatives felt they were supported safely. One relative told us, “I am very happy with the care and feels [Name of relative] is safe with the carers.”
