Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 21/10/2025 - 24/11/2025

St Peters Court is a residential care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care with capacity for up to 24 people. There were 17 people living at St Peters Court at the time of our assessment. The service provides care to older people. This was a fully comprehensive assessment and we looked at all 5 key questions.

The provider had governance systems in place, but we did identify that some areas of these systems needed to be more robust to ensure people’s safety and wellbeing was maintained, help drive improvement and reduce the recurrence of some incidents.

Staff were caring and promoted people’s privacy and dignity. People’s communication needs were assessed. Staff felt supported.

The service was clean and well-presented and people were protected from the spread of infection. Equipment was regularly serviced and checks of the environment were completed to ensure the service was safe for people. People received their medicines as prescribed.

People's experience of this service

We spoke with people who lived at St Peters Court along with their relatives to gain insight into the care they received. An expert by experience of caring for older people and people living with dementia assisted in gaining the views of people. We used a structured observation tool to assess whether they received good care which helped us to assess if people were being included and listened to and how staff interacted with them.

People and their relatives told us management were approachable and felt they could raise any concerns or complaints. During our visit we saw people supported by staff who knew them well and treated them with respect. Staff were attentive to people’s needs.

People and their relatives told us staff were kind and caring. One relative told us, “Everyone is very competent and the care is outstanding.”
