Our view of the service

We inspected Richmond House on 03 November 2025.

We assessed the service due to an aged rating. This service was last inspected in November 2021, and the service was rated good overall. At that inspection, we found some issues with medication administration. This was a breach of Regulation 12 HSCA (RA) Regulations 2014 Safe care and treatment.

At this assessment we rated the service as Good.

We spoke with 7 members of staff, 5 patients and 1 family member. We also reviewed the care and treatment records of all 5 patients.

Richmond House was registered with CQC in 2010 to deliver the regulated activities: Assessment or medical treatment for persons detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and Treatment of disease, disorder or injury. The service had a Registered Manager.

At this assessment we assessed 1 assessment service group; Wards for people with learning disabilities or autism where we assessed 32 quality statements.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

We rated the service as good. We found no breaches of regulations.
